Kurt
McDonald is a native of the Lithonia area and has practiced
in the Atlanta / South metro area for over 11 years, specializing
in orthopedics and sports medicine. Kurt received both his
undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and his Physical
Therapy degree from Georgia State University. He has also
assisted in the interview process for incoming Physical
Therapy students for the Georgia State program.
Kurt is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
(CSCS) and has worked with and rehabilitated athletes from
the MLS, NFL, AFL, NCAA and WWE. An avid athlete himself,
Kurt was a local high school and collegiate soccer player.
He is currently an accomplished age grouper
tri-athlete and has completed 2 Half Ironman and 13 Half
Marathon competitions. He has developed training programs
for multiple teams and athletes from the high school to
collegiate levels.
Recently, Kurt and his wife Dr. Tracy McDonald
opened their first practice in the Camp Creek Marketplace
area…Genesis Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation,
LLC. This is a 2400 sq foot, state of the art, outpatient
orthopedic facility serving the growing South West Atlanta
market.
Kurt is also a Certified Ergonomics Assessment
Specialist (CEAS) and lends his background of over 7 years
working Shipping / Receiving and Distribution to building
safe workers compensation programs.
Kurt previously was an Area Manager and Clinical Coordinator
of Education for one of the country’s largest rehabilitation
corporations, while still keeping his passion for patient
care and hands on treatment. |
