PRENATAL SERVICES

“’The Core,’ focuses on the postural changes in your body during pregnancy and the exercises that will help your body comfortably adjust and thrive during its 40-week (plus) marathon.”

1. Reduced risk of developing gestational diabetes (especially in women with a body mass index –BMI- greater than 33)
2. Reduced risk of developing pregnancy incuded hypertension (high blood pressure)
3. Fewer obstetric interventions (vacuum extraction, forceps)
4. Reduction in the “active stage” of labor ( the time from 4 cm to 10 cm dilation)
5. Research has suggested that the incidence of caesarean section may be lower in women who exercise during pregnancy
6. Increase in maternal well-being—you will have more energy and sleep more soundly
7. Increases sense of control over your pregnancy and your changing body
8. Improved self image
9. Quicker return to pre-pregnancy weight
10. Decreased incidence of loss of bladder control during pregnancy and postpartum
